Technical Sales Representation – NE Alberta

Simark Controls is looking for a talented sales professional, based in or around Edmonton, AB to spearhead our growth in the NE Alberta territory.

The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic, team-oriented environment and be able to juggle multiple priorities simultaneously. The team member will be responsible to liase with all levels of Simark’s organization, and manage a territory growth plan.

Reporting to the Regional Manager, Alberta North & to the Vice President, Sales & Marketing, you will be involved in the continued growth and success of Simark Controls.

Qualifications:

Technical degree or diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation or business

5+ years sales experience

Ability & desire to work in a fast-paced, team focused environment

Passion & focus for continuous improvement

Ability to travel

Dual minded approach: you are highly organized and an excellent communicator (both written & verbal) but can also be process-driven, think scale, and rely on team members for execution

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Relationship building with customers, including:
  • Provide to the industry the benefits of Simark Controls Ltd.
  • Provide technical expertise on the specifications, installation, operation and application of the equipment represented.
  • Handling Customer complaints.
  • After sales follow-up of projects.
  • Promotion of Simark products and services through customer training and demonstrations.
  • Quoting of projects within time line set by customers.
  • Meets with VP Sales at regularly scheduled meetings to discuss Account Development, Opportunity Pipelines and Project Pursuit.
  • Provides detailed Sales Reports using CRM tools on customer projects and quotations, sales calls and activities. Starts opportunities in iTrak. Completes Application Forms.
  • Constantly updates and maintains a current opportunity pipeline.
  • Meet with customers to determine their needs and to assist them with application problems.

Additional duties as required and directed by the VP Sales, VP Instrumentation, Automation & Energy and VP Power Products.

Marketing Manager – Calgary (head office)

Marketing Manager – Calgary (head office)

Simark Controls is looking for a prolific and talented marketing manager with a strong capability for content creation to spearhead our marketing strategy.

 

The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic, team-oriented environment and be able to juggle multiple priorities simultaneously. The team member will be responsible to liase with all levels of Simark’s organization, and manage marketing campaigns with Simark partners.

Reporting to the Vice President, Sales & Marketing, you will be involved in the continued growth and success of Simark Controls.

Qualifications:

BA/BS degree in marketing, communications, or business

Ability & desire to work in a fast-paced, team focused environment

Passion & focus for continuous improvement

Past experience building digital collateral

Proficiency with HTML5, Video editing software, Adobe Creative Suite, CRM Systems, creative content tools (eg videoscribe, rocket animation, etc)

Dual minded approach: you are highly creative and an excellent communicator (both written & verbal) but can also be process-driven, think scale, and rely on data to make decisions

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Create 1–2 free resources each month to drive leads, engage customers, build brand awareness, and/or other important metrics (examples include whitepapers, infographics, videos, powerpoints, etc)
  • Convince others in the Simark team that your creative ideas are worth investing time & effort in. This role is at the core of the marketing strategy, and others will rely on your work every single day
  • Collaborate with designers, third party companies, sales professionals, external influencers, partners & industry experts to produce relevant content that meets the needs of key stakeholders
  • Drive a web-development strategy in concert with our parent company’s branding
  • Manage tradeshows, customer collateral, and customer facing events
  • Work directly with the leadership team on digitization strategy & execute on key digital initiatives

Inside Sales – Instrumentation, Automation & Energy – Calgary

We currently require talented, highly motivated individuals to join our dynamic company in the following position:  

Inside Sales – Instrumentation, Automation & Energy – Calgary

The successful applicant will be responsible for supporting our customers and sales team while representing our strong product suite.

Reporting to the Vice President – Instrumentation, Automation & Energy, you will be involved with the continued growth and success of Simark Controls. 

Qualifications:

  • Business Degree or equivalent Technology Certification (Instrumentation, Electrical, Electronics)
  • 1 – 2 plus years of related industry experience
  • Proactive self-starter with Entrepreneurial work ethic
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment while prioritizing/multi-tasking
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) is required 

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Provide Sales Support such as quotation preparation and sales order entry.
  • Review of large project RFPs and customer data sheets in order to develop complete and accurate Simark project proposals.
  • Responsible for knowing all pricing of products and technical specifications.
  • Provide technical and commercial support to Simark customers and the Sales and Marketing Department.
  • Strong team approach/collaboration with Management, Service, Production and Peers.
  • Additional duties as required and directed by the VP – IAE or Inside Sales – Coordinator
